The Downriver Race (the final event in the 2011 Sabrina Trophy series) will be run by the Yare Sailing Club and start from Woods Dyke, Horning. There will be a briefing at the Ferry Inn at 12.30 hrs (approx) and entries should be submitted to the OOD beforehand. (Entry fee £5.00, £3.50 of which will be donated to The Clare School, Norwich, a Specialist 'Physical/Sensory' Complex Needs School and £1.50 to YSC) Yachts may start at any time between 13.30 and 14.30. The course will be from Woods Dyke to a marker below Thurne Mouth, returning to finish in the River Thurne near Cold Harbour Farm. The race will finish at 16.30, after which time yachts will not be timed in. The lower Bure leg may be omitted and/or a different time limit imposed should conditions dictate. If so this will be announced at the briefing. The course may be shortened at any point. The Autumn Trophy will be awarded to the fastest yacht on handicap and the NBYC Cruiser Class Trophy to the first Norfolk Broads Yacht Club member on handicap that is not the overall winner. Prizes will be presented at Womack Staithe after the race (5.00pm approx). The Ferry Inn is open for the service of refreshments. Limited extra mooring space may be available if necessary on the frontage of Ferry Marina, by kind permission of Mr Funnell.
