THE WAVENEY & OULTON BROAD YACHT CLUB
OULTON WEEK 13TH TO 18TH AUGUST 2006
Hi everyone, a very warm welcome to Members, Visitors & Friends,
On behalf of the Flag Officers and Committee of WOBYC, welcome to Oulton Week Regatta 2006. According to the long range forecast the fine summer weather is set to continue; letÕs hope theyÕve got it right!
Our members have, as usual, been busy making arrangements for racing and social events. We hope you will support both, and will strive to provide good sport and a good social atmosphere. Please enjoy the evenings in the bar and club area. We have arranged with the caterer to provide food throughout the day.
On Sunday, I hope you will all come to the CommodoreÕs reception in the Clubhouse, where there will be the usual free buffet, courtesy of the Club.
On Tuesday, following recent successes, Mike Barnes is going to hold his quiz night.
On Wednesday, there will be folk music in the bar, and of course the Boatshed Disco.
On Thursday, there will be a Jungle Jump Theme Night with prizes for the most appropriate attire for the evening (Fancy Dress)!
On Friday, there will be the Prize Giving and a BBQ supper.
Please make sure you read this leaflet carefully, and also the Conditions of Entry and Sailing Instruction Notices.
Please enter the racing for the week in advance to ease the rush. Alternatively, take the entry form to the entry table before your first race. Single race entries can only be made on the day of the race.
For legal and insurance reasons, we now have to require entry forms for junior competitors (under 18s) be counter-signed by their parent or guardian.
Please act with courtesy to other competitors, other users of the Broad and residents of Oulton Broad, and keep out of the start line area until the previous race has started and keep clear of those who are already racing when you are not.
I, with, Mike Davies, the Vice Commodore, and Maureen Horne, the Rear Commodore, will be on hand most of the time, and will be pleased to answer any queries. We all hope we all have an enjoyable week, with good weather, good sailing and good company. Your help in achieving this will be most appreciated.
Good sailing and good luck to you all.
Roger Asher (Commodore).

the creation of wash. This year again River Inspectors will be on duty on
